Hezbollah platforms target the return of exports to Saudi Arabia

Hezbollah-affiliated media platforms circulated claims that exports from Lebanon to Saudi Arabia had been halted again, following reports of a shipment containing narcotics. However, official sources told Naqd that the claims are false, and that the Lebanese state has not been informed of any official Saudi decision to suspend exports or imports between the two countries.

The reports come only weeks after Lebanese exports to the Kingdom resumed, following an official Saudi decision to allow imports again, alongside tighter monitoring and security measures at the Port of Beirut and other relevant facilities. The move aimed to rebuild commercial trust between the two countries after years of disruption caused by drug smuggling.

According to the sources, the claims about suspending exports are part of a disinformation campaign aimed at casting doubt on the new measures, undermining the revival of export activity, and stirring confusion around the return of trade relations, in what appears to be an attempt by Hezbollah to once again suffocate Lebanon and cut off any serious ties being rebuilt with Arab countries.
