Following the visit of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a decision to exempt Lebanese students enrolled in French public universities from registration fees for the upcoming academic year, in light of the difficult economic and security conditions facing Lebanon.
The decision will benefit around 10,000 Lebanese students currently studying in French public universities.
Each student will receive an exemption ranging between €2,000 and €4,000 annually, depending on the university, field of study, and academic level (from undergraduate to master’s).
This announcement comes as part of a broader presentation by the French president outlining the assistance France plans to provide to Lebanon in the coming period.
