Qlayaat Airport reopens with a Cairo flight
Qlayaat Airport in Akkar is preparing for its first commercial flight to Cairo on November 15, according to the announced schedule, paving the way for civilian operations after years of closure.
Technical systems, security and passenger services are being prepared as the required approvals are finalized. More routes could follow, depending on operational readiness and licensing.
The reopening could create jobs and boost tourism and trade in Akkar and northern Lebanon, while reducing reliance on Beirut Airport if regular flights continue.
