More than 834,000 people have returned to their home areas in Lebanon, while 352,793 remain internally displaced as of August 6, according to UN OCHA.
For many, however, returning home does not mean returning to normal. Homes, infrastructure, and essential services remain damaged, while insecurity continues to prevent thousands of families from going back.
As of August 10, around 22,800 displaced people were still living in 232 collective shelters, more than 53% of them women and girls.
Behind the large number of returnees, more than a third of a million people remain displaced, with their return dependent on security, housing, and reconstruction
