General Amnesty Collides With the Blood of the Army

Here is what the families of fallen Lebanese Army soldiers object to in the current draft of the general amnesty law:

Replacing the death penalty with a 28-year prison sentence — equivalent to around 21.5 years effectively served.
Reducing prison terms through provisions such as sentence merging, which could allow detainees convicted in terrorism and attacks against the Army to be released before completing their sentences.
