Naqd’s Investigative Documentary Nominated for the Lebanese Independent Film Festival

Last October, we at Naqd, in collaboration with the Samir Kassir Foundation, released an investigative documentary titled “#RoumiehPrisons”.

Today, the film has been officially selected to participate in this year’s Lebanese Independent Film Festival (LIFF), marking a new step in shedding light on one of Lebanon’s most enduring cases of injustice.

“Roumieh Prisons” explores the reality of inequality and corruption inside Lebanon’s largest prisons, revealing how privilege and poverty intersect within a fractured justice system.

Through rare footage and confidential testimonies, the documentary offers a powerful portrayal of power, injustice, and moral collapse behind bars, through a vision that blends investigative storytelling with cinematic realism.
