Lebanon has signed a $150 million financing agreement with the World Bank for the Lebanon Digital Project, aimed at modernizing government services and reducing reliance on paperwork and in-person procedures.
The project will support secure state data infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital identity and e-signatures, updated civil records, and better links between government databases. Key public services will also gradually move to a unified online platform.
For citizens, this could mean verifying identity, signing documents, submitting applications, and tracking services online without repeatedly visiting different ministries.
