U.S. launches plan to isolate Iran and cut its economic lifelines

The United States has launched an economic isolation campaign against Iran, targeting five key sectors and more than 60 Iran-linked individuals, entities, and vessels.

The pressure extends to companies across India, Türkiye, China, Singapore, the UAE, and Iraq involved in oil, petrochemicals, military technology, and shipping.

Washington is also coordinating with Bahrain and other Gulf states, placing the Strait of Hormuz at the heart of its efforts to prevent Tehran from using it as leverage over global trade.
