To rescue the IRGC from Ali Al-Taher Iran begs Washington the “great Satan”

After Israel encircled Ali al-Taher Hill, putting Hezbollah at risk of losing one of its key military positions, Iran reportedly began seeking a U.S.-brokered way out for members of the IRGC and Hezbollah fighters trapped there.

Israel’s focus on the hill since the start of the war stems from what lies beneath it: an extensive network of tunnels, command rooms, weapons depots, launch sites, and fighters operating from a complex linked to Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, which is responsible for operations north of the Litani River. Ali al-Taher therefore remained a persistent target, eventually reaching the current stage of encirclement and the threat of a broader ground operation.

But the real solution is neither evacuating IRGC and Hezbollah personnel nor allowing Israel to bomb the site and destroy its tunnels and stockpiles. The option that could spare the area further attacks is to hand the position over to the Lebanese Army, allowing it to enter the tunnels and deploy across the hill.
