As UNIFIL’s mandate in Lebanon approaches its end on December 31, 2026, the future of the international presence in the South is entering a decisive phase.
France and Italy are moving to form an international coalition to support Lebanon after UNIFIL’s mission ends, aiming to maintain stability and prevent a security vacuum along the southern border.
