Since the Beirut Port explosion on August 4, 2020, the investigation has faced a long series of lawsuits, requests to remove judges, suspended hearings, and political disputes—repeatedly obstructing the process and delaying justice.
Six years later, after changes in investigating judges, refusals to lift immunities, and repeated confrontations surrounding the case, the full truth remains out of reach. The victims’ families are still waiting for the indictment and for trials to begin before the Judicial Council.
