Plot to attack Syria from Lebanon Hezbollah member and Assad officer charged

The use of Lebanese territory to prepare cross-border security operations is back in the spotlight after Judge Claude Ghanem charged 14 people with plotting attacks in Syria. Among them are a Hezbollah member known as “Hajj Alaa” and a former officer from Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The charges include training, arms smuggling, and the use of drones to prepare operations targeting Syrian territory. Several suspects remain at large.
