Lebanon’s Ministry of Interior has banned the movement of trucks with a gross weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes every Friday from 2:00 p.m. to midnight and every Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to midnight on all international, primary, and secondary roads across the country.
The measure aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety. The ministry also instructed governors to regulate loading and unloading hours and provide designated parking areas for trucks.
The ban does not apply to military vehicles, ambulances, fire and civil defense vehicles, fuel, gas, and drinking water tankers, trucks transporting grain and livestock, concrete and asphalt mixers, or refrigerated trucks carrying vegetables, fruit, meat, and medicines.
