Days after an explosive device detonated in Majdal Zoun, Tyre, killing two Israeli soldiers and seriously wounding four others, Israeli investigations suggested that the blast was caused by Israeli explosives already present at the site.
Initially, Israel immediately treated the incident as an explosive device planted by Hezbollah and as a violation warranting a broad response against Lebanon. It issued an evacuation warning for Mansouri and struck Burj al-Shamali, alongside near-daily demolition and explosive operations inside southern villages, before preliminary findings led to the suspension of the planned response.
Ironically, while Israel continues to blow up sites and homes across southern Lebanon, its own explosives nearly triggered a new round of war this time.
