Today, #Iran has reached a two-week ceasefire with the United States, with statements from all parties indicating that the agreement may evolve into a long-term deal between them. Meanwhile, #Lebanon, as usual, has been left alone in the battle, excluded from the ceasefire. On the contrary, Israel has renewed its sweeping warnings and escalated its bombardment across Lebanon.
Once again, this presents a clear example of how Iran uses Lebanon as a battlefield for its conflicts—only to abandon it first when negotiations begin, in order to safeguard its own internal interests.
Meanwhile, and more ironically, Hezbollah supporters have taken to celebrating Iran’s supposed victory, overlooking the fact that they themselves remain under fire, as the south, Beirut, and the Bekaa continue to face destruction under ongoing strikes.
