Activating Mother’s Right to Open Bank Accounts for Their Children

Years after the circular was first issued, married women in Lebanon can now open bank accounts for their minor children, following a directive issued by Banque du Liban Governor Karim Saeed to all banks, calling for the implementation of Circular No. 305/2009 issued by the Association of Banks in Lebanon.

The activation of this right directly strengthens the mother’s role as an active partner in financial decisions related to her children, particularly when it comes to facilitating the daily procedures Lebanese families face.
