Following Unrest And Damage… France Bans All Protests In Lyon On Saturday

France has banned all protests in Lyon on Saturday, October 24, after clashes with police, looting and damage to shops and public property.

Around 20,000 people reportedly joined the protests. Between 150 and 200 shops were damaged or looted, and about 200 people were arrested.

Authorities set a nighttime curfew in parts of the city centre before banning all Saturday protests, including peaceful ones.

Calls to protest over rising prices and student demands continue, as police prepare for more unrest.
