Egyptian Security Accused Of Torturing “Matsada2ch” Journalists With Electric Shocks

ARRESTS AND THREATS AGAINST FAMILIES

Egyptian authorities arrested six journalists from fact-checking platform “Matsada2sh,” accusing them of ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and spreading false news.

Most told prosecutors they were beaten, electrocuted, stripped and threatened alongside their families.

    FORCED CONFESSIONS ON CAMERA

The journalists said they were forced to read prepared scripts on camera.

Their lawyers described this as fabricating evidence against them.

SOLIDARITY AND A SUMMONS FOR RASHA AZAB

Dozens of journalists staged a sit-in at their syndicate, while over 400 signed a solidarity statement.

Journalist Rasha Azab, who joined the protest, was summoned by the Supreme State Security Prosecution.
