Court orders Iranian flags to be removed from homes in south Lebanon

Lebanese judicial authorities ordered the removal of an Iranian flag from a home in Houmine, Nabatieh, after a dispute between supporters of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement over flags displayed in the town.

The dispute began when Amal supporters raised their flag on municipal public land. Hezbollah supporters removed it; it was later raised again, while an Iranian flag appeared on a nearby home.

As tensions grew, Nabatieh’s appellate prosecutor, Judge Najat Abu Chakra, ordered both flags removed. Both sides complied. According to judicial sources cited by Lebanese media, the Iranian flag was removed under a ban on displaying foreign flags on public and private property.

The incident follows other official moves involving Iranian symbols in Lebanon, including the removal of banners and portraits of Iranian figures from the road to Beirut Airport last June.
