The Israeli series Fauda topped Netflix’s most-watched list in Lebanon following the release of its new season, bringing a world of military operations, raids, pursuits, and fear to an audience that has experienced many of these scenes beyond the screen.
The paradox goes beyond the success of a series or the curiosity surrounding it. After years of airstrikes, drones, displacement, and escalation, images of war have become a recurring part of Lebanese daily life—and have now found their way into entertainment choices as well.
