The issue of Lebanese Jews has resurfaced in negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, more than four decades after several members of the community disappeared during the Lebanese Civil War.
Israel has reintroduced the case as part of the humanitarian track of the negotiations, alongside the issues of prisoners, human remains, and missing persons. The move has revived one of the most complex unresolved files dating back to the 1980s, where historical, humanitarian, and political dimensions remain deeply intertwined.
