A New International Move to Protect Navigation in the Strait of Hormuz

A group of countries has drafted a resolution aimed at reopening the #Strait_of_Hormuz and safeguarding maritime navigation, in preparation for submission to members of the #UN_Security_Council. The draft requests the UN Secretary-General to submit a report within 30 days on the implementation of its key provisions, while the Council signals its readiness to consider additional measures—including sanctions on Iran—in the event of non-compliance.
