According to the latest Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) data covering the period between April and August 2026, 56% of residents living in the districts of Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Tyre — located south of the Litani River — are suffering from severe food insecurity. Their number is estimated at around 36,781 people out of the 65,370 who remain in the area.

As local production and distribution capacities continue to decline, thousands of families have become dependent on limited food aid delivered amid a de facto siege affecting food access, movement, and production all at once.
