Globally, Iran leads the list at 55.9%, followed by Argentina and Turkey, while Lebanon ranks seventh, reflecting continued severe inflationary pressure on food prices in several economies.

These figures reflect Lebanon’s harsh living reality, as food inflation worsens compared to last year due to several factors, mainly the war, monopolies, and global tensions linked to the Iran–U.S. war. Meanwhile, salaries remain largely unchanged and can no longer keep up with rising costs in a country where inflation is affecting almost every sector.
